In January 24, 2020, China CDC successfully isolated the first strain of New Coronavirus from China.

At 20:18 on March 16, the recombinant new crown vaccine was approved to start clinical trials.

On April 13, China's new coronavirus vaccine entered phase II clinical trials. On the same day, an expert group composed of more than 120 scientists, doctors, funders and manufacturers around the world issued a public declaration, promising to work together to speed up the research and development of new coronavirus vaccine under the coordination of the world Health Organization. On June 19, China's first new coronal mRNA vaccine was approved for clinical trial. As of July 20, there are about 250 candidate new coronavirus vaccines in research and development, of which at least 17 are in clinical trials.

On August 5, 2020, the Xinguan inactivated vaccine production workshop of Beijing Institute of biological products, affiliated to China National Institute of biology, Sinopharm group passed the biosafety joint inspection organized by relevant national departments and was qualified for use. Previously, the workshop has obtained the production license of new crown vaccine [6] China's first novel coronavirus pneumonia vaccine was awarded to the Chen Wei Academy of Sciences in August 16th, the first patent application in China. In August 20th, the clinical trial of the new China biological crown inactivated vaccine was launched in Peru (phase III). In October 8th, China signed the agreement with the whole vaccine immunization alliance, and formally joined the "new crown vaccine program". As of October 20, 2020, about 60000 subjects have been vaccinated in China, and no serious adverse reactions have been reported.

As of February 25, 2021, there are four new coronavirus vaccines on the market in China, including three inactivated vaccines and one adenovirus vector vaccine.
