By 2021, the brexit process will be officially completed.
The protracted brexit war has finally come to an end. At the same time, the CE mark will no longer apply to the goods exported to the UK. Let's see what changes have taken place.
1、 Regulations related changes
***UK market will use "UK authorized representative"!
European products used to use the EU authorized representative. After brexit, the European representative is no longer applicable to the UK market. Cross border sellers need to re entrust the UK representative as the compliance director of UK circulation goods.
Along with the EU's authorized representative is the UK declaration of conformity
***UK government launches ukca certification
As we all know, the sales of the vast majority of EU products need "ce certification", and the CE mark is the "ID card" of EU products. After brexit, CE certification is no longer applicable to British products. UK government has launched ukca certification.
UK government original announcement: from January 1, 2021, ukca logo will be officially opened for use. Products sold to the UK, CE mark will gradually not be recognized, must add ukca LOGO!
Ukca certification is issued by UK laboratories
The simple understanding is that ukca certification replaces the original CE certification, and the British generation replaces the original European generation. At the same time, ukca certification is directly issued by British laboratories, and the cost will be higher than CE certification.
Orders that do not arrive in the UK before 1 January 2021 but are already in progress will not be affected.
For the UK, the effective date of the ukca logo is January 1, 2021. Before this date, goods that have entered or are in transit are not affected by this system. In transit proof includes order, invoice, logistics list, etc.
2、 Change of intellectual property rights
Due to the change of the trademark law, the EU trademark will no longer be valid in the UK from January 1, 2021, and the brand owner should have a separate trademark in the UK and the EU Intellectual Property Office.
3、 Tax related changes
***New VAT regulations to be introduced in UK market
Britain used to enjoy the low tax exemption policy, but according to the current relevant notice, from January 1, 2021, importers will implement the withholding and payment of British VAT according to the situation, and the seller needs to do a good job in VAT compliance registration before that.
What is ukca?
