The opening and closing ceremonies of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and winter Paralympic Games are planned to be held in the urban area of Beijing. There are three major events including skating (including short track speed skating, speed skating and figure skating), ice hockey and curling. There are five competition venues in Beijing, four of which are water cube, National Stadium, Wukesong stadium and capital stadium The four stadiums will hold curling, men's hockey, women's hockey, short track speed skating and figure skating competitions respectively. Of the 12 ice sports venues needed for the Winter Olympics, 11 are ready-made. A new venue, the national speed skating hall, has been built to the south of the tennis center in Beijing Olympic Forest Park.
Zhangjiakou City will hold competitions of ski jumping, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, Nordic biathlon, biathlon and cross-country skiing. Five new venues will be built and rebuilt, including national ski jumping center, national cross-country skiing center, national biathlon center and Miyuan Yunding paradise
Located in the xiaohaituo mountain area of Yanqing District, about 90 km away from the urban area in the northwest of Beijing, the Beijing Winter Olympic Games will hold the alpine skiing events of sled, snowmobile and skiing major events, namely the national alpine skiing center and the national snowmobile and sLEIgh center.
