Generally speaking, In China,only part of the ring high, airport expressway, special landscape area expressway have street lights, and no street lamp installed on most of the highway. Drivers can drive by the light and reflective signs on the road. Do you know why there are no led street lights on the highway?
Why don't we install street lights on the highway? Remarks, China High way is not freeway.
1、 The high itself does not need led street light at night.
No need to turn on the highway traffic lights and traffic signs at night, so long as the traffic lights and traffic signs on the highway is divided into two directions.
The highway does not allow pedestrians and non motor vehicles to go on the road; motorcycles, tractors and tricycles are not allowed to go on the road; therefore, the highway does not need to undertake the function of pedestrian lighting.
There are less vehicles and less traffic at night than during the day. Moreover, the road conditions are maintained relatively well, there are no obvious pits and grooves, and the safety factor is relatively high.
Street lamps has its own industry standard in municipal roads and high-speed roads. Street lamps will be added in high-speed tunnels, bridges and large turns, but led street lamps are not generally installed on the straighter roads.
2、 High cost which make this impssible.
In China, according to urban road standards, the maximum distance between two street lamps is 50 meters. In 2014, the total mileage of expressways in China exceeded 100000 km. If all led street lamps are installed, the installation and maintenance cost is indeed astronomical. After rough calculation, the installation cost is close to RMB 100 billion, and the electricity fee is an astronomical figure.
3、 Energy saving and environmental protection
If all the above-mentioned street lights are installed with led street lamp, it will have a huge impact on the environment, because such a huge power consumption needs to burn a lot of coal to supply. Moreover, with so many led street lights, the power consumption every night is quite considerable. It even needs to set up several special heating power plants to supply them. The annual electricity bill is astronomical.
4、 It's not safe for high speed driving.
Scattered light will dazzle the driver in long-distance driving and affect driving safety. And the lighting of street lamps is not continuous, so it may be on and off, and the driver is very prone to visual fatigue during driving.
Are there street lights on foreign highways or freeway? Where are the led street lamps exported from gmtlight to the U.S. and European markets? We will interpret it then.
If some solar LED street lights are installed, the maintenance cost may be reduced. But construction costs will be higher.
